Cool Place BUT Attention To Detail NOT INCLUDED

When we arrived they were just wrapping up a shoot for a music video. The staff was nice. The decor was amazing. The price was reasonable. Note, this boutique hotel is close to LAX and not in the heart of anything fun—err, if it was, we wouldn't know it. (Refer to #2, #3 and #5). Check our list of complaints based on our one night experience:
1. The cost of parking is a little steep. We knew this going in and cheated the system. Advice, book the Park And Fly package. We did so even though we weren't leaving our car. (Find it under Specials & Packages)
2. Their bar was not open at 11:30 PM on a Thursday night. According to reveiws, they were supposed to have a popular bar that locals frequented.
3. We could not find a restaurant guide or area guide in our room.
4. No "do not disturb" sign for when the housekeeping comes and wakes you up at the crack of dawn

5. No receiver for the phone. If you needed the concierge, I guess you had to make the trip down in your skimpies. By-the-way, when I told the staff the next morning, their response was, "Oh we know. There are a few rooms without receivers." At least lie. Huge sign that the Custom Hotel does not care about the details.

6. Numerous light bulbs were inoperable in our room
7. No food in the vending machines, only toys. But that's fun so we'll let it slide.
8. No soymilk for my morning coffee. We were in LA right?
To be fair, here is our list of compliments:
1. The staff was nice
2. Free internet
3. Art deco decor

4. Fairly quiet, but I don't think that the hotel was very full the night we went.
5. Pool area was really funky and we wish we had time ot enjoy it.
Bottom Line: If you don't mind roughing it, this place is pretty cool.
