Hello Los Angeles! I’m sure you’ve had an over stimulating summer, as to be expected, but the seasons have changed and fall is upon us. It’s time for a change. It’s time to relax a little and enlighten your mind and I have just the perfect event in which to do that, TarFest.
Now in its 9th year, Tar Fest is a FREE indie art a music celebration and festival presented by the nonprofit LAUNCH LA in an effort to showcase emerging artists to the local community. But this ain’t your mama’s arts festival—TarFest features a children’s art making tent and a biergarten as well as loads of LA’s hottest food trucks to fill up your tummy. Also known as fun for the whole fam-damn-ily.

Alt rockers Saint Motel [www.saintmotel.com], who’s song “Puzzle Pieces” refuses to get out of my head, rootsy yet modern rock n’ rollers Everest [http://everestband.com], whimsical, electro-rockers Obi Best [http://www.obibest.com] as well as A House for Lions, Infantree and Ash Panda will perform on the Tarfest stage.

Oh and did I mention it’s free? (Cause it is and that’s like the cherry on top of a delicious artist sundae. Mmm.) TarFest is held in the Brea Tar Pits, an active historical and archeological site, so you can absorb and observe natural beauty as well. You simply cannot lose.
