Pin up style is known for it’s bold red lips and form fitting vintage dresses. But what makes this look so popular among many women today?
Fashion trends don’t usually stay around for too long. They seem to make a splash and leave just as fast as they arrived. Sometimes, however, they return as an updated version to fit the times. There are a few exceptions to this rule. Fashion staples such as jeans, the basic tee and classic pumps have always remained en vogue. Pin up style is another fashion staple that has been able to withstand the changing times.

Pin Up Style
Pin up style has been able to maintain its popularity in part because stars like Katy Perry and Dita von Teese have made it their signature look. It is a bold look that is simple and classic. From its bold red lips to its vintage dresses, it’s a look that still turns heads and continues to inspire designers today. It’s a timeless look that flatters just about every woman’s body, celebrates the curves and embraces femininity.

I’m going to be honest; I don’t dress up like a pin up girl. My influences for how I dress usually come from urban street wear and the occasional Boho. I do, however, love and appreciate the look because it is subtly sexy and it exudes a certain type of confidence that I don’t think any other style does. It is a look that does take time and effort to pull off. So I don’t recommend it for anyone to try unless you have the time and the patience to learn the tricks. Yet, if done right, it is a look that’ll easily turn you from drab to fab.
