I love discovering new music. Nothing beats the feeling of listening to a song and falling instantly in love with it. But realizing you’ve just fallen in love with music while at a show, pretty much tops it all.
Two months ago, I went to Ecoplex in Silverlake to go hear Classixx perform. Initially, I was feeling the DJ who opened the show, but he couldn’t keep my attention for long. The next performer was an artist who did little more than just confuse me. Maybe screaming over a trance isn’t my style (if it’s your style I’d like to know why). Anyways, I was getting anxious for Classixx but we had to wait until yet another opening act performed.
The moment a stylish blonde came to the stage I was intrigued. “Who is this?” I thought. The first song she opened with was called “C.L.U.B” and I was hooked. It had an amazing dance beat and fun lyrics. I quickly looked them up on my iPhone and found out the band was called MNDR. (Hooray for technology!).

MNDR is an electronic music duo from New York featuring Amanda Warner and Peter Wade. They’ve opened for notable bands such as Massive Attack and Deerhoof and they’re currently working on their first full length CD, set for release before the end of the year.

Warner is also featured on Mark Ronson’s song “Bang Bang Bang” with Q-tip. A great song to dance to on a Friday night by yourself or with friends.

In short, MNDR is a definite must hear!
