Rock n Roll Books
I know that many of you out there dream of a rock n’ roll lifestyle. You know what I’m talking about. The life of endless money, fame and a harem of men or women (whatever you fancy, I don’t judge).
But if you are like me and can’t hold a note or play an instrument, then go ahead and live the lifestyle through these five autobiographies... This way you can live the lifestyle vicariously through these great artists without having to go through rehab, plastic surgery, debt and a rebirth of a career. It’s win/win, really.
1. Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis with Larry Ratso Sloman
One of my favorite bands growing up was the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Whether they were parading around in tighty whites or singing out songs with great meaning, this band is always entertaining and a joy to listen to. Scar Tissue is an honest memoir of lead singer Anthony Kiedis’ life in the fast lane and his rebirth.
2. I Am Ozzy by Ozzy Osbourne with Chris Ayres
“I’m just John Osbourne: a working-class kid from Aston, who quit his job in the factory and went looking for a good time.” Re-live the crazy life of one of rock’s greatest in this honest and most of all crazy autobiography.
3. Save Me from Myself: How I found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs and Lived to
Tell My Story by Brian (Head) Welch
Believe it or not, one of my favorite bands in high school was the band Korn. Somehow, in my head liking the Backstreet Boys and Korn made perfect sense (Yes I can hear the laughter). In this autobiography, the former drummer of Korn Brian (Head) Welsh gives us a candid and inspiring story of how he kicked drugs and found God.

4. Between a Heart and a Rock Place: A Memoir by Pat Benatar
I think Pat Benatar is one of the coolest women on the planet. Debbie Harry is a close second, but no other woman to me exudes such a great confidence and attitude like Benatar. In her memoir, read how she made it through the music world by her own rules while breaking a few others.
5. Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? By Steven Tyler
Take a look at the life of a living legend in this biography by Areosmith front man Steven Tyler. Relive the drugs, the money, the fights and the rehab through the eyes of one of rock’s eccentric front men.
